Oldie's but Goodies - Chip

Gillian Nelson is hosing an Oldie's but Goodie's Challenge over at Studio Calico and since all I have is older products this was right up my alley ;) It's another cottage layout and I'm LOVING  how it came out!!  It's simple but it still gives me that "cottagy" feel :)

The only thing that is new on this layout is the wood grain paper which I downloaded from Pixel Scrapper. Since my scrapbooing is on a no spending diet I love it when I come across some great free finds and Pixel Srapper has a lot!

Supplies Used
Light Wood Paper from Pixel Scrapper - you can download it here
Bazzil Basics Pattern Paper
Beary Patch (how many people remember this brand?) for the patchwork hearts
Stampin Up for the tags
Bella Blvd for the words "Hanging Out"
And my Cricut

Join the conversation!

And lets talk :)  Today is a very special day for.  It's Bell Let's Talk day.  Every time you tweet with   or share on Facebook Bell Let's Talk bell will donate 5 cents more to Mental Health Initiatives.  You do not need to be a Bell Customer all you need to do is re-tweet and share.  I will be re-tweeting lots tomorrow feel free to follow me Kimberly Kett.  I do have to work so most of my tweeting and sharing will be done in the evening but I plan on re-tweeting as much as possible during my breaks and lunch!

Sharing this layout today.  It was published in the 2007 Spring Issue of Canadian Scrapbooker.  It's still really hard for me to read the journaling without tearing up.  It's a very simple layout but I think it speaks volumes and is very special to me.

Ready, Up

This is the last LOAW Challenge for January we had to create are own embellishments.

Used some water colours for the messy background.
Had some acrylic clouds that I painted with Gesso.
Stamped some arrows.
Layered some tags.
Used my cricut for the title.

I like how it came out :)  Another for the cottage layout is done.  I think I have about 20 pages left and it's done.  Just gotta keep at it!

I'm Back :)

It's been awhile since I've blogged went on a little bit of an hiatus but I'm back and I'm scrapping again :)

I'm still working on my friends cottage album.  My goal is to get it finished by the end of March, wish me luck!

As always I love a good challenge and discovered LOAW over at Studio Calico.  They're so cool and so fun and really got my creativity flowing.  I've set another goal to try and do everyone of these challenges this year :)

Here is what I've don for January so far

January LOAW Challenge 1 - Finish up a layout that's stayed unfinished on your table.

Definitely challenged my inner Paige Evans for those rolled fish:)

January LOAW Challenge 2 - A recipe challenge (I LOVE these!) we had to use the following

  1. Use a piece of pattern paper that you have been hoarding
  2. One embellishment that you've hoarded.
  3. Current favourite alpha
  4. A Mixed Media technique

Here is my take, it was also featured on the Cocoa Daisy Blog which has me super excited and totally made my day!!

January LOAW Challenge 3 - Use this pin as a prompt.

I loved how this one came out!

I'm going to be working on Challenge #4 today and I'm looking forward to getting some regular blogging done again as well :)

Cute vs Spook

It's been awhile since I had a blog post.  Life sometimes just gets away from me at times.  Hopefully things will be more settled now and I can do some more scrapping :)  Did a quick one today, mixing some older product with some newer product.  My oldest girl, her boyfriend and my son Matthew carving pumpkins last year.  The boys really wanted to make something "spooky" and Chelle wanted "cute".  The compromise was that Chelle got her own pumpkin while the boys shared...lol

Pattern paper is Twinkle, Twinkle from Studio Calico
Letter Stickers are Doodlebug and American Crafts
Stickers are SRM Press, K&Co and Jillibean Soup
Dots are Basic Grey
I also used some old gold flecked mullberry paper and some polkadot vellum.

Liking how it came out :)

Thanks for stopping by and hope everyone has a GREAT day!
